According to CBS News and the New York Post reports, the 12 dogs were on the way to an adoption event. Fortunately, 23 more dogs were saved from the trailer.

The Georgia-based Lifeline Animal Project explained that the adoption event would help the dogs find new families. They also ensured the dogs were in good condition by frequently checking on them.

However, the report found that the air conditioning system in the vehicle did not work. As a result, the temperatures soared inside the transport vehicle.

The website of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals reminded in a post that a car is a metal box in which temperatures could reach up to 100 degrees. Soaring temperatures could lead to increased respiratory and heart rates. The situation could become life-threatening for animals.

Recently, the National Weather Service (NWS) advisory reported the oppressive heat in parts of the United States.

NWS also warned that dangerous heat could harm pets, noting not to leave them unattended inside hot vehicles.

Dogs died in Indiana

Unfortunately, this is not the only time dogs were found dead inside if a car due to extreme heat. Nature World News (NWN) recently reported that multiple dogs died in Indiana when the air conditioning failed.

According to a CNN report and the Lake Station Department, the said dogs were being transported for K-9 training. However, the vehicle experienced a two-hour traffic while on the way, and that is when the driver noticed the dogs were barking in distress.

Keeping your pets safe amidst the hot weather conditions

The latest report noted the dangers of bringing dogs without supervision, especially when vehicle air conditioning fails.

The extreme can bring them to danger, possibly resulting in death. Here are essential reminders to homeowners to keep their pets safe from the scorching weather.

Don't leave your pets unattended inside hot cats

Leaving pets unattended inside a hot car can likely harm them, bringing more health risks. According to The Humane Society of the United States, vehicle temperatures could rise, making it more challenging for pets.

    Avoid outdoor activities

During the hot weather, pet owners should reschedule their outdoor activities. The intensity of the heat could harm them. Cooler environments can also keep your pets safe.

      Enough water supply

Homeowners should also ensure that pets have enough water supply. Pet owners should check for signs of heat stress and heat stroke.
