AccuWeather's latest forecast (December 30, 2022) showed that a storm could cause severe thunderstorms in portions of the Central United States.

Those enjoying New Year's Eve outside their homes could expect mild to rainy conditions before Monday's flooding rainfall.

The report explained that the storm could re-intensify starting Monday, moving from Colorado Rockies, resulting in potential mountain snow.

AccuWeather's outlook said New Year's Day could expect milder weather conditions.

  • Mild weather is expected to unload in El Paso, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Charlotte, Jacksonville, New York and Washington.
  • Meanwhile, dry conditions could unfold in Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Billings, Denver and Seattle.
  • The forecast added that rain showers could occur in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Besides the rounds of rain, the forecast warned that severe weather conditions could unload damaging thunderstorms starting Monday afternoon until Tuesday evening. The report said the thunderstorms could affect Houston, New Orleans, Little Rock and Birmingham residents.

The first week of January would be problematic for many homeowners as the storm could produce isolated tornadoes, damaging winds and local flash flooding.

Those planning to travel next week should monitor the weather conditions as the storm could cause reduced road visibility and difficulty traveling.

People in the Central U.S. should watch for potential tornado watches or isolated tornadoes, especially in Mississippi, Little Rock, Arkansas, Texas, Dallas, Houston and Jackson.

Homeowners should prepare emergency plans for potential life-threatening tornadoes. Knowing how to act during a tornado outbreak could help save from injuries and casualties.

On the other hand, AccuWeather added that the severe thunderstorms could continue until Tuesday to Tuesday evening. The forecast said tornadoes and flash flooding could potentially occur in New Orleans, Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham and Hattiesburg.

Snow conditions

While some portions of the country could suffer from flooding rainfall and tornado outbreaks, the forecast warned that snowy weather could unfold in Northern Plains. It allows residents to see more snow for 2023.

According to AccuWeather's forecast on Sunday to Tuesday next week, the report showed that snow could unload in Elko, Salt Lake City, Cedar City, Denver, Santa Fe, Denver, Rapid City, North Platte, Sioux City, Minneapolis, Marquette, Duluth and Fargo.

Residents in the Northern Plains should expect colder temperatures. Health experts warned that prolonged exposure to the cold weather could be a concern.

Motorists traveling to snowy areas should be mindful of slick and wet roads.
