New Yorkers had now to worry about the aftermath of the massive snowfall that hit the state. The lack-effect snow brought heavy snow in the state that resulted in emergencies. Schools in the area were also temporarily closed as residents and crew began snow removal.

As New York suffered from the heavy snow, reports said some parts of the United States recorded heavy rains and snow. After the lake-effect snow in New York, it is expected that the temperatures in the state will be colder than usual.

According to the latest weather news, AccuWeather reported that the heavy lake-effect snow unloaded in New York resulted in three fatalities.

Meanwhile, Erie County, Hamburg, Orchard Park, and Buffalo were also affected.

Furthermore, trucks were deployed to help in the snow that affects major roads. Power crews were also there to restore power lines damaged by the lake-effect snow.

Cleaning up snow

As residents joined in cleaning up the snow, the National Weather Service (NWS) announced that the wet snow could cause back injuries and possibly heart attacks.

The report noted the importance of wearing layers of clothes to feel warm, covering parts of the body. Shoveling heavy snow could cause prolonged exposure to cold resulting in hypothermia or frostbite. However, warm clothes could help with the freezing or chilly weather.

The advisory said to stay hydrated if they help in the snow cleanup. Breaks are helpful so that you would not feel exhausted.

As the weather is colder due to the lake-effect snow, it is a reminder that winter is coming near.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is one of the most important days for many Americans. The latest report said severe weather conditions could disrupt outdoor activities and travel.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), excessive rainfall and thunderstorms could occur in portions of Texas, Mississippi, Houston, Jackson, Shreveport, and Louisiana.

On the other hand, the previous report said that the southeastern to south-central U.S. would experience the developing storm.

The report said the storm could unleash heavy rain and snow that could impact Thanksgiving Day until the weekend. The forecast showed that thunderstorms with rain would emerge in portions of Miami, Atlanta, Washington D.C, Dallas, Houston, and Nashville.

Residents and travelers should expect rain and gusty winds until the weekend, causing travel hazards. Individuals traveling should be careful with the weather as it could affect road visibility.

Heating system

As many Americans prepared for the winter, reports said the heating system would be costly, especially the heating oil. The heating system is important during the winter to ease the impact of colder and freezing temperatures.

As a result, it is important to plan for the winter, noting that prolonged exposure to colder weather would lead to hypothermia or frostbite. Wearing layers of clothes protecting your body could offer relief.
