Residents in Seattle will feel relief from the dry weather conditions due to heavy rain. The latest weather noted that rain and mountain snow would emerge in the Northwest.
As many travelers were ready for Thanksgiving in a few days, the forecast revealed that Seattle's recorded dry weather streak would end after rain unloaded this week.
According to AccuWeather's latest forecast, the rainless and dry streak in Seattle ended after reports that rain was unleashed on Tuesday at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
AccuWeather explained that Seattle maintained days of rainless streaks due to high pressure, allowing storms to keep away from the area.
With almost no rain, it would cause or contribute to poorer air quality.
Based on the weather outlook, Seattle and Spokane could expect stormy weather, causing rain, mountain snow, and improved air quality.
Because Seattle recorded a dry streak without rain, the wet weather and rain will help to improve the air quality. Additionally, the report said that no flooding could be expected.
Meanwhile, the forecast added that snow could also emerge in portions of the Cascades and northern Rockies.
Residents in the said areas should stay updated with the weather.
Starting Friday to Sunday, the AccuWeather outlook reported that stormy weather would cause cooler temperatures and locally gusty wind. Rain could emerge in Medford, Portland, and Seattle. Meanwhile, snow is also expected.
The storms are expected to bring colder air into the region as the winter season of 2022 arrives.
The surging cost of heating system
On the other hand, a new report showed that the heating system would surge as the weather becomes colder and winter comes. The expensive cost of heating systems raises concerns.
Although the heating system is important, maintaining is not cheap. According to the latest report from CNN Business, heating system prices could skyrocket, especially for heating oil.
With concerns over the high cost of heating systems for the winter, the Biden administration would provide $4.5 billion in federal assistance for families to help pay heating bills.
Excessive rainfall
Furthermore, the National Weather Service reported an organized rain and thunderstorms could unload heavy rainfall in eastern and southeastern Texas and Mississippi.
The advisory noted that flooding is possible.
The report added that portions of Texas, Houston, Mississippi, Shreveport, and Louisiana are affected.
Meanwhile, the Weather Prediction Center added that heavy snow could impact portions of the Southern High Plains.
According to the advisory, a storm system could move Southern Plains from Thursday into Saturday, causing heavy snow. The weather could also disrupt travel for portions of New Mexico, Texas Pandhandle, and Texas South Plains.
On the other hand, the report added that rain showers, gusty winds, and thunderstorms occurred in northern Oregon coastal areas and southern Washington.
As the weather is now colder due to severe weather conditions and heavy snow accumulation, weather forecasts emphasize being updated and informed about the current weather updates.
