China Records Decrease in Carbon Emissions For the First Time Since COVID-19 Lockdowns
Since China reopened from COVID-19 lockdowns, carbon emissions dropped for the first time in the third quarter, as per a study released Thursday. Experts say this might be a carbon "turning point" for the country. The second-biggest economy in the world has pledged to peak emissions before 2030 and attain carbon neutrality by 2060, but authorities have tried to stop the country from relying on fossil fuels.
