Giant Panda Gives Birth at Smithsonian National Museum
Mei Xiang, a 22-year old panda resident of the Smithsonian National Museum since 2000, gave birth on August 21, 6:35 p.m. Eastern Time. The sex of the cub, which is as big as a stick of butter, is still unknown and will be determined after the neonatal exams are completed.
