Blue Blob Close to Iceland May Have Contributed to Island's Slowed Glacial Melt
Glacier melt is believed to have been slowed since 2011 and the blue blob - a region of cooling water in the North Atlantic Ocean close to Iceland - may be responsible. Researchers are still trying to figure out what caused the Blue Blob situated south of Greenland and Iceland.
