Scientists Rethink Human Tree Root as Unique DNA is Found in South Carolina Man
A new DNA discovery has caused scientists to rethink the roots of the human tree. The DNA from an unnamed African-American from South Carolina is so unique in it is the oldest known genetic branch of the human Y chromosome, and it branched from the Y chromosome tree before the first appearance of anatomically modern humans in the fossil record.
