The NWS Short Range Forecast revealed that heavy mountain snow could unfold over the Rockies and Northwestern US. The temperatures can become colder due to the blast of Arctic air.

Limiting outdoor activities is also recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to the cold weather. Hypothermia and frostbite can become life-threatening, especially for older adults and people with medical conditions.

Furthermore, hazardous ice accumulations are likely on Wednesday, with a chance of freezing rain. Homeowners should watch out for power outages and tree damage due to the weather.

In terms of the snow, it will spread over the Northern Rockies, Northwest and Plains in the midweek. The forecast monitors the back-to-back series of Pacific storm systems. Heavy snow can also unload in the eastern portion of the Rockies and Northern High Plains.

Meanwhile, ice conditions can spread over the Columbia River Valleys, Southwestern Washington and parts of Oregon. In the Mid-Atlantic and New England, the forecast warned of additional snow. Wind Chill warnings are also present.
