Weather in Portions of the US: Severe Thunderstorms, Rain And Snow
The NWS forecast discussions showed that an upper troughing is expected over the West-Central US. The Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies can experience a mix of rain and snow this week.
In the Northern Plains, Great Lakes and Midwest, precipitation could unload on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Midwest residents should stay alert for mid-latitude cyclones and isolated thunderstorms.
In addition, Eastern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle can experience Critical Fire risks due to stronger winds. The wind conditions can cause fire concerns in the region exacerbated by a warmer outlook.
Record-high temperatures are also likely in the Southern Appalachians and Southern Plains.
