Light rain conditions are expected in the Pacific Northwest and Central California due to upper-level troughing, according to the latest forecasts.
Warmer conditions and above-normal temperatures were recorded in the Western US and California. However, the weather pattern will change with the chances of rain early next week.

In the Pacific Northwest, the region has experienced rainy conditions. Snow potential was also reported in high-elevation areas as the fall weather began.
Pacific Northwest and Parts of California: Light Rain Outlook This Weekend
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the upper-level troughing will help bring a light rain outlook in Northern and Central California this weekend. The weather will not become severe.
The Pacific Northwest can also expect the same rain on Saturday. Above-average temperatures from 15 to 25 degrees can also unfold in the Northern Intermountain Region, Lower Mississippi Valley and Southwestern US.
The light rain could not pose a weather danger. However, motorists should watch out for slipper road conditions this weekend from a rainy outlook. Flooding is not a problem this week.
However, the persistent heat will stay on the weekend in some parts of the US. In the latest forecast, dry conditions and record highs are expected in the following areas:
- Cedar City
- Las Vegas
- Albuquerque
- Phoenix
- El Paso
- Odessa
- San Diego
- Los Angeles
Meanwhile, Hurricane Norma will not have a significant impact on Southern California. In San Diego, the forecast showed relief from the heat next week, including in Los Angeles.
In addition, the warm outlook will spread over Elko, Denver, Grand Junction and Salt Lake City. However, the much-awaited colder conditions will emerge next week.
On Monday, a chilly condition is expected in the following areas:
- Las Vegas
- Cedar City
- San Francisco
- Medford
- Portland
- Seattle
- Spokane
- Boise
There is also a snow potential next week. Snowy outlook can be possible in Helena, Denver and Casper. California mountains or high-elevation areas can expect snow accumulation.
