Maxim Valerevich Shubarev was born in Leningrad in 1968. His father worked at an enterprise focused on developing innovative technologies and producing electronics - the Leningrad Scientific Research Technological Institute (later renamed Avangard OJSC). His mother was employed at the Admiralty Shipyards.
