Potential snow and a cooler outlook are expected in parts of Canada this weekend due to a cold front, especially in the Alberta foothills.
In addition, homeowners should watch out for possible heavy rain.
Canada is also known for its majestic snow. As the fall weather begins, the forecast shows a cooler weather outlook could unfold in the region. The snow can become noticeable in high-elevated areas in the country.
Potential snow and cooler conditions: Where is it expected in Canada?
Recently, weather news reported the Greenland skies experienced gray wildfire smoke from Canada. The raging wildfires in the country brought unhealthy and poor air quality in nearby areas, especially in the US.
As of September 29, the forecast showed that cloudy conditions are likely in the following areas:
- Calgary
- Charlottetown
- Montreal
- Ottawa
- Prince George
- Toronto
- Vancouver

Furthermore, cooler to freezing conditions are expected in the Alberta Foothills. There is a chance of snow in the area. The chilly air is forecast to reach the nearby areas, especially in Banff and Kananaskis.
On Friday, cooler temperatures are likely in Crownest, Lake Louis, Jasper and Nelson. The cold front can also bring a chilly outlook in Calgary and Lethbridge.

Dry conditions in Canada
In the recent forecast, NWN also reported dry conditions in Canada due to a ridge of high pressure in the region. The dry outlook is forecast in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario and the Toronto Area. The warm conditions will likely stay until the first week of October.
The potential dry areas can experience little to no rainfall until early October. Although the weather can be warm, it is ideal for outdoor plans or activities this weekend.
The main concern about the dry and warm weather is bushfires and wildfires. Warm temperatures, strong winds and dry vegetation can be favorable for fires to emerge.
According to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, there are at least 900 active fires as of September 27.
In the mapping, 485 were out of control, while 215 were under control.
The country has suffered from devastating wildfires, making it more challenging for firefighters and communities. Fires can be human-caused. People should observe the fire safety or ban to avoid other fire concerns.
Homeowners can regularly cut their grass. Installing a water hose in your backyard or garden can prevent potential bushfires. While in the forest, car owners should turn off their engines while in the dry grass or vegetation.
The equipment can also spark fire. People should be extra careful in operating as they stay in dry areas or forests.
