US Extreme Heat Forecast: Massive Heat Dome To Hit Central US Late Week

A massive heat dome will likely grip parts of the Central U.S. this week that can bring record highs and heat-related illnesses, according to the latest forecasts.

August recorded soaring temperatures during the first week in portions of the Southwestern U.S. Increased fire risks and health concerns were reported due to the record-breaking heat.

As heatwaves can become deadly, homeowners are advised to check their family members for signs of heat exhaustion and stress, especially in Arizona, Phoenix, Seattle and Portland.

In addition, the NWS Phoenix said an excessive heat warning is present in the region.

A massive heat dome is forecast to hit Central U.S. this week that can cause the upper 90s to 100 F in parts of the country. Heat dome can help unleash dry conditions and soaring temperatures.

A hotter outlook could be likely in the following areas: Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas and Nebraska. People should keep hydrated amidst the scorching heat in the Central U.S.

In addition, Chicago, Minneapolis and parts of Texas can experience the troublesome heat this week.

Meanwhile, the NWS Weather Prediction Center's latest key message said that dangerous heat could unleash in parts of the Pacific Northwest midweek.

The weather outlook showed that challenging heat will be likely as heat advisories are present in the affected areas. According to the forecast, oppressive heat is possible in the following areas:

Interior California
Idaho
Oregon
Washington
Medford
Eugene
Salem
Portland
Willamette Valley

In the Central U.S., the heat will ease late week until early next week. Relief from hot weather is forecast in Seattle, Reno, Redding, San Francisco and Portland.

Weather advisors in Southern U.S

The southern U.S. is no stranger to extreme heat and severe thunderstorms. The forecast showed that persistent heat will unfold in Southern Florida and Texas portions.

A dangerous outlook can be likely due to a mix of humidity and heat in the region, bringing 110 F.
