Toco, a Japanese man now reluctant to show his true face, spent $14k to look like a collie, fulfilling his ambition of becoming an animal.
Japanese Man Turns into Collie
A Japanese man who spent more than $14,000 on a custom-made collie suit has converted himself into a dog.
The unidentified individual, who only goes by Toco online, claims that the odd outfit has enabled him to fulfill his lifelong ambition of "becoming an animal."
In a video uploaded to Toco's YouTube page, where he has more than 32,000 followers, he can be seen playing fetch and frolicking while wearing the outfit. His YouTube channel is aptly named "I want to be an animal."
Toco even posted a video of himself going out in public for the first time as a dog.
In the viral video with 4.3 million views, onlookers looked to be in amazement at the man's canine debut as he strutted down a busy street.
Although some viewers were critical in the comments section about the bizarre scene and the behavior of dogs towards the man in the costume, some viewers still commended how the furry costume was so realistic.
The Unusual Hobby
With a harness fastened around his now furry abdomen, Toco completed the look, but he claimed he was "nervous" and "scared" to go out in public.
He even wrote in his graduation book about how he desired to be a dog and walk outside, but in the footage, he called his lifelong dog desire seeming "unrealistic."
Toco answered an array of questions in another video that was published last year to introduce his unique hobby, confessing that he had always had a hazy ambition of becoming an animal.
He said that he chose to transform into a collie because of the breed's close resemblance to humans in stature. He also wrote in the video clip how realizing his life-long dream transpired.
The collie outfit, which cost roughly 2 million Yen or $14,161 USD, took 40 days to make, according to Zeppet, the business that made it for Toco.
According to a company spokeswoman via news.com.au, it replicates the appearance of a genuine dog walking on four legs and is modeled closely after a collie dog.

Real Face Reveal Denied
Despite becoming well-known online for his puppy journey, Toco keeps his unusual tendencies hidden from the majority of people who know him.
He admitted in another interview with the Mirror that he rarely tells his peers because he worries that they would think he is strange. The news that he turned into an animal seemed to surprise his friends and family a great deal.
The Japanese man claimed last year that the majority of his coworkers are likewise unaware that he goes outside of work dressed as a dog.
He added that while his coworkers find his desire to be a dog odd, he doesn't want them to know about his interests. He can't reveal his true face for the same reason, New York Post reports.
