Earthquake in Alaska Peninsula

In the latest earthquake alerts, CNN and Reuters reported that a magnitude of 7.2 hit the Alaska Peninsula, causing a tsunami warning in nearby regions.

In the reports, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) showed that the 7.2 magnitude earthquake emerged about 55 miles southwest of Sand Point in Alaska.

Meanwhile, the CNN report added that the earthquake resulted in tsunami warnings in parts of the Aleutian islands and Unimak Pass. Still, no tsunami warning was reported in Canada and US.

Furthermore, ABC News reported that the National Weather Service (NWS) issued an advisory in Anchorage.

According to reports, the tsunami alerts were no longer a threat.
