Staying safe from flooding

The flooding in India has impacted homes and crops due to relentless rain conditions in the region. Devastating extreme weather events could result in dangerous situations.

Communities and homeowners should prepare for the severe weather outlook from damaging winds and flooding rainfall.

People affected by the flooding rainfall should consider the weather before they return. It is best that the floodwaters already subside.

Once they return home, checking on appliances and electrical supplies is essential. Homeowners should seek an expert to check.

Furthermore, keeping emergency supplies and kits would become helpful when a storm unloads, causing power outages and flooding.

The recommended emergency kits are battery-powered radios, flashlights, medicine kits and non-perishable goods.

Motorists should also be watchful of slippery and muddy road conditions.
