Washington, New York City, Boston and parts of the Northeast can expect cooler temperatures and improved air quality as rainy conditions are forecast to unload this weekend.

As July began, the Northeast and Southeast suffered from soaring temperatures, especially the heat dome in Texas. Heat warnings and advisories were present to alert residents of possible heat-related health risks.

While the summer season is set, the hotter conditions could become more difficult for sensitive groups, including older adults, outdoor workers and children.

Motorists should check the weather conditions this weekend and until next week, as slower commutes and travel disruption are possible due to the rainy weather.

Hotter outlook in the Northeast

This Friday, the AccuWeather forecast showed that hotter conditions are likely in Boston, Burlington, New York, Washington and Charleston.

Cooler conditions are forecast in Buffalo, Detroit and Columbus.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported that above-normal highs could unfold in Maine to Florida, Texas, Southwest and Northwest.

Normal high temperatures are likely in North-Central Plains.

The hotter and dry conditions could lead to wildfire concerns this week. It is best for motorists and homeowners to monitor the weather outlook before planning outdoor activities.

Rainy and stormy conditions

Furthermore, the AccuWeather forecast explained that stormy conditions could help bring rain in the Northeast, especially from Pennsylvania to New York.

On Friday, the torrential downpours would result in reduced road visibility. Chances of a flash flood could unfold in Scranton, Binghamton and Syracuse.

On Saturday, Americans can expect a rebound to cooler temperatures, easing last week's uncomfortable heat.

Based on the weather outlook, people could anticipate rain and possible thunderstorms in Portland, Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Washington, Charleston, Columbus and Detroit.

Miami, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Memphis and Kansas City are forecast to experience rainy conditions this weekend.

Meanwhile, the NWS advisory reminded Americans that thunderstorms could become dangerous. The report emphasized that Americans should immediately go inside or seek shelter when thunder roars.

The NWS added that Americans should keep away from windows and doors. The report noted that 20-25 million lightning flashes unfold annually in the United States.

On Sunday, the forecast said rainy conditions would continue in Columbus, Charleston, Washington, New York, Boston, Portland, Burlington, Buffalo and Virginia Beach.

The Nature World News (NWN) recently reported that cooler conditions are forecast in the Northwest.

In contrast, a hotter outlook will continue in the Southwest.

The dry weather outlook is forecast in parts of Phoenix, Las Vegas, Elko, Salt Lake City and Reno.

Due to this week's challenging weather outlook, Americans should stay updated with the weather, from challenging heatwaves to flooding rainfall.

Americans with travel plans should consider the weather, as slower commutes could become likely due to slippery roads and minor flooding.
