Reports revealed that severe blizzard conditions emerged in Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs, which resulted in accessible road conditions and immediate evacuations.

Recently, the Northeast experienced warmer and dry conditions that raised concerns over the impact on the drought conditions in the region.

Furthermore, parts of the Midwest and Northeast recorded poor air quality due to the Canadian wildfire smoke. Reports added that unhealthy levels of air could likely emerge.

Severe Blizzard Conditions in the Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs

According to AccuWeather's latest report, severe blizzard conditions unfolded in Pikes Peak, causing the immediate evacuations of visitors.

The report added that the blizzard conditions resulted in decreased visibility in the area. Difficult travel conditions and reduced road visibility were also reported.

The AccuWeather report noted snow reached about 6-8 inches in the area (Tuesday).

 According to The Gazette report, Pikes Peak - America's Mountain manager, Skyler Rorabaugh, explained that the area had whiteout conditions and severe snow.

Furthermore, people with outdoor activity or hiking plans should check the weather or announcements before they plan their trip.

When the weather conditions become severe, it is essential to avoid climbing. If you become stranded on the mountain, it is best to call for immediate SOS or help immediately.

Blizzard conditions could become an extreme difficulty in the mountain areas. It could result in dangerous situations when you become stranded without essential tools.

Derecho risk in the Southern US

On the other hand, AccuWeather reported that a derecho threat could likely impact parts of the Southern United States.

Based on the weather outlook, challenging thunderstorms could become a concern through Monday, bringing possible flood risk.

The forecast added that rounds of thunderstorms could emerge in Little Rock, Jackson and Oklahoma City.

Hot weather conditions could also become likely in Dallas and Houston.

Furthermore, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported that troublesome thunderstorms and large hail could unload in Mid-Atlantic, High Plains and Southern US parts.

NWS added that the severe thunderstorms could likely reach parts of the Gulf Coast, with a potential tornado.

On the other hand, the NWS Weather Prediction Center reported that challenging heat conditions could unfold in portions of Louisiana and Texas.

The report explained that widespread heat could impact parts of the South-Central United States, bringing challenging heat conditions in the area.

In addition, the forecast added that heat watches and advisories were present in parts of Louisiana and Texas.

The report noted that the soaring temperatures could lead to heat-related health concerns in the affected areas.

People with medical conditions, outdoor workers and older adults could become vulnerable to the challenging heat conditions. It is best to reschedule all outdoor activities, especially when the weather becomes hotter.

In the Northeast, the forecast noted that Canadian wildfire smoke could likely unfold in the Midwest.
