The Mid-Atlantic states (PA, DE, and NJ) will likely experience severe weather, including thunderstorms, damaging winds, large hail, a tornado, and flooding.

Strong to severe thunderstorms that could arrive on Saturday in the early evening hours and possibly bring damaging winds and heavy downpours are possible.

On a scale of 1 to 5, there is a 2% chance that some areas of the area will experience severe weather.

Mid-Atlantic States: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey

In Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Lancaster counties are among those that have a higher risk of severe weather.

The entire counties of New Castle and Kent in Delaware are also expected to face a higher risk of severe weather in the region.

This slight risk applies to the majority of Salem County in New Jersey, as well as smaller portions of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Camden counties.

The rest of the region is at "marginal" risk, equivalent to 1 on a 5-point scale, according to CBS Philadelphia.

Everyone should be on guard, but the risk increases in the farther south areas.

While the warm weather played along the range of 70 to 80 degrees yesterday, all basins in the region will receive showers and scattered storms today, Saturday.

Sunday, however, poses a risk of small rises in rivers and creaks, the Mid-Atlantic Weather Station reported.

Severe Storm Watch: Delaware

On Saturday, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the entire state of Delaware.

The alert covers New Castle County, Kent County, and Sussex County, and it will end at 6 PM.

As the day goes on, the clouds will become denser and the southerly winds will increase.

Strong winds pose the greatest threat to the entire region, which is under a high threat of heavy rain and possible localized flooding.

There is a slight chance of hail up to an inch in diameter, and isolated, brief wind spin-ups that could produce tornadoes are also a possibility.

Making plans is acceptable until 5 PM because the outside will be warm, windy, and cloudy.

However, the rain will intensify after 5 or 6 PM.

The area will experience the worst of the storm's effects between 5 PM and 9 PM and then will continue to moderate impacts, possibly through midnight, CBS Philadelphia reported.

Hazardous Weather Outlook: Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Pennsylvania

Central Pennsylvania is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook with this day set as Day 1.

As of now the possibility of this hazardous weather spreading is low.

Strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds are possible this afternoon between 2 PM and 5 PM.

In the lower Bucks County, minor coastal flooding is possible.

New Jersey

Gloucester County in New Jersey is placed under the same weather alert, making this day its Day 1 as well.

Minor coastal flooding is possible for the county, possibly with scattered severe thunderstorms.

Minor coastal flooding is also possible in Cape May County and northwestern Burlington County, the National Weather Service reported.
