UK weather forecast shows this month will be the hottest April on record amid fears of drought and record-breaking heat, according to the UK's Meteorological Office (Met Office).
Meteorologists anticipate sunny weather with above-average temperatures across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland throughout April.
Meanwhile, drought conditions and intense heat are also possible.
The weather forecast comes a month after drenching rain poured down across the UK, causing floodwaters and the issuance of flood alerts in multiple areas nationwide.
Furthermore, April's drought forecast comes after UK weather authorities declared drought in many parts of the nation in August 2022 with record-breaking temperatures amid the deadly European heatwave.
The UK has entered its spring season, which spans from March to May every year, just like other countries in the Northern Hemisphere.
During this period, weather is considered moderate, which is between the average temperatures between the summer and winter seasons.
However, weather events, such as rainfall and intense heat, are still possible.
UK Weather Forecast
As mentioned earlier, the Met Office recently issued a weather forecast for the UK with an immediate outlook of mostly dry weather from Sunday to Monday, April 2 to April 3, wherein few light showers was expected across some areas of Scotland.
This will be followed by pleasant weather for most of the UK but with more clouds across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
For this week, the office hints of a similar weather from Tuesday to Thursday, April 4 to April 6, wherein the occurrence of rain is expected in the far northwest.
Meanwhile, rain will move eastward from Wednesday, April 5, until Thursday followed by brighter skies and another showers.
In terms of its long-range forecast, the UK weather service issued an almost month-long outlook from Friday, April 7 until May 1.
In particular, fine weather with sunny spells will become more common as the spring progresses, but there is still a chance of wet, windy, or unsettled weather.

Drought Conditions
The record-breaking heat and potential drought conditions will be the greatest hazards for the UK April weather.
Weather forecast suggests that the prevailing long-range forecast for the UK this April could lead to the month's warmest on record, as cited by the UK's Daily Express newspaper.
According to the British Council, UK weather is unpredictable and it can be extreme in rare instances, with an average temperature from 9 to 18 degrees Celsius (46 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit).
In February, the UK Government's Environment Agency stated experts are warning of another hot dry spell that could lead to the return of drought conditions this year, despite rainfall during the previous winter season replenishing most water levels.
The agency also announced that its members, along with the National Drought Group, are continuing to plan and take action to reduce risks associated with the extreme weather event, with measures ranging from improving water supplies and protecting the environment.
