Low temperatures in Arkansas reach the 20s, causing some areas to issue a second night of Freeze Warning.

Parts of Central and North Arkansas may experience another night of subfreezing temperatures Tuesday night, which will persist through Wednesday morning.

For the counties, such as Pulaski, where it is likely or possible, a freeze warning has been issued for the hours of midnight to 9:00 AM on Wednesday.

A warm front will carry cooler temperatures on Wednesday as well as Thursday, but a potent cold front will return the freezing temperatures this weekend on Thursday night.

In Central Arkansas, it is typically not advised to plant delicate garden plants like tomatoes until the first or second week of April, KARK reported.

Another Freeze Warning

According to reports from AccuWeather, the first Freeze Warning was in effect until this morning and a second Freeze Warning will be in effect from midnight tonight to tomorrow at 9 AM CDT, March 15.

Sub-freezing temperatures reached 28 degrees during the first Freeze Warning, while sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 are anticipated during the second Freeze Warning.

Authorities issue a warning that frost and freezing temperatures will destroy crops, and other delicate vegetation, and possibly even harm uncovered outdoor plumbing.

Additionally, authorities advise citizens to act immediately to shield tender plants from the damaging cold.

To prevent freezing and potential bursts, outdoor water pipes must be drained, covered or wrapped, or allowed to drip gradually.

Underground sprinkler systems should be turned off, and pipes above ground should be encased to prevent freezing.

Other Weather Alerts in Arkansas

National Weather Service data shows that the state of Arkansas is under multiple weather alerts.

Aside from the multiple Freeze Warnings, some areas are also under Flood Warnings and Flood Advisories, with some expiring on the 17th and some without a definite date of expiry.

Union and Ashley Counties are affected by the ongoing Flood Warning for rivers in Arkansas, including the Ouachita River, and Felsenthal Lock and Dam.

Monroe and Columbia are also included in the warning for the Ouachita River.

A Flood Warning has been issued for the area due to anticipated minor flooding, and it will be in effect until further notice.

In the meantime, a Flood Advisory will be in place for the Mississippi River until Friday night due to anticipated elevated river levels.

The flooding, according to weather experts, is a result of excessive rainfall that persists.

The Lower Mississippi River, which includes Tiptonville, Caruthersville, Memphis, Osceola, Tunica Mhoon Landing, and Helena, is still under a flood warning for both Mississippi and Arkansas.

Additionally, elevated river levels are predicted for this region.

Due to the continued heavy rain, the Flood Advisory will last until Friday morning.

Near Mhoon Landing, the Mississippi River touches the levee numerous times at a depth of 28.0 feet.

The road to Stubb's Island is closed, the service added.

West of Seabrook Road, fields inside the levee are flooding. Flood Water has also made it to McKinney Bayou Pumping Station's outlet.
