The month of February became challenging for homeowners and motorists in the United States after severe thunderstorms, ice storms and winter storms resulted in significant damage and power outages.

Some parts of the US began to feel the early taste of spring-like temperatures after a big warmup in the Eastern and Southern US.

This week, AccuWeather's latest forecast said Western US would anticipate wintry weather conditions by midweek.

The weather forecast said that snowy conditions would become noticeable on Wednesday. The forecast warned of possible road closure and avalanche risk.

Furthermore, snow is expected to unload in Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City, and Flagstaff on Wednesday.

The temperatures could become colder next week. Homeowners should ensure that their homes and family members get enough warmth.

During snow, temperatures are forecast to drop, especially at night. The common health-related risks are hypothermia and frostbite.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Prediction Center reported that an active storm system is expected in the coming days on West Coast.

The forecast added that the storm system would move to parts of the Pacific Northeast and Southeast by midweek.

The advisory noted that heavy snow would become noticeable in the Sierra Nevada, Cascades and Coastal Ranges.

In Northern and Central California, residents and motorists could also experience snow. Meanwhile, there is also a possibility of blizzard-like conditions.

On Tuesday, AccuWeather reported that residents and motorists could notice chilly weather and snow showers.

  • A chilly outlook is expected in Las Vegas, Albuquerque and Phoenix.
  • Snow showers are forecast in Elko, Salt Lake City and Cedar City.
  • Possible rain showers could unload in San Francisco, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Diego.

On the other hand, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported that parts of the South could expect isolated tornadoes and large hail.

Residents and motorists should stay alert for severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes, especially at night.

Storm preparedness

Although spring is near, motorists and homeowners should stay updated with severe weather conditions.

There is still a possibility that the last event of winter storms could unfold before the spring season.

In previous reports, Nature World News emphasized keeping an emergency bag or kit in case of tornado outbreaks, severe weather risks and prolonged power outages.
