In addition to other weather warnings, Hawaii is currently experiencing heavy snow, flash floods, and freezing rain.

As a meteorological phenomenon known as a Kona low remains to pour rain and snow on the state this weekend, every area of Hawaii is on weather alert.

Winter Storm Warning

Since late Friday, Hawaii has experienced rain, and flood watches are in place through Saturday afternoon.

The Big Island is also under a winter storm warning that will last until Saturday night.

Heavy snow and freezing rain are expected at higher elevations.

It's still possible for excessive rainfall to cause flash flooding. The weather warning is in effect through Saturday afternoon for all of the major Hawaiian islands.

Streams and drainages may overflow, which could result in significant flooding.

In low-lying or urban areas, runoff may cause property damage in addition to closing roads.

Scenic areas with steep terrain are also susceptible to landslides.

The Big Island's east and southeast regions are of particular concern because washed-out roads there could cut off communities.

At least through Saturday afternoon, a plume of moisture will hang over the islands, maintaining the possibility of significant rainfall.

Recent rain has saturated the soil across much of the state, and a stretch of showers of moderate intensity could cause flash flooding, The Weather Channel reported.

Multiple Weather Alerts in Hawaii

According to National Weather Service, Hawaii has more than one weather alert.

Parts of the state are also under Flash Flood Warning, Flood Advisory, High Surf Advisory, and Flood Watch.

The Rest of the US

The majority of the rest of the nation can anticipate a pleasant weekend in terms of the weather.

Northeast US

On Saturday, the sun will be shining in areas from Boston to Bangor, Maine.

The Northeast will experience temperatures in the 30s and 40s, but the sunny day will be a welcome change after back-to-back storms brought rain and snow to the area.

Southern US

The weather on Saturday is forecast to be sunny and in the 50s from New Orleans to Richmond, Virginia, and areas nearby.

Atlanta's high is expected to be 58, Nashville's 54, and Richmond's 52.

The Plains

The Plains will be a little cloudier, with forecasts calling for mostly cloudy conditions from Lubbock, Texas, to Fargo, North Dakota, via Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Omaha, Nebraska.

Lower Plains regions should see temperatures in the 50s, while northern locations like Fargo and Billings, Montana, will stay in the 30s.

Western US

With sunny skies as well as highs in the 70s in Los Angeles and Phoenix, the 60s in Las Vegas and San Diego, and the 50s in Denver, it will be a gorgeous weekend throughout most of the West.

Further north, it will be a little gloomy, and Oregon and Washington can expect sporadic showers of rain.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 11 AM on Saturday until 11 AM on Sunday for some of Wyoming.

In the Salt River and Gros Ventres mountain ranges, as well as the Teton mountains, total snowfall could reach 10 inches.

Wind speeds of up to 40 mph are possible.

The National Weather Service said Traveling could be extremely challenging, particularly over Teton Pass.

Snow that is blowing in patches could drastically reduce visibility, USA Today reported.
