The report said no injuries, casualties, or properties were recorded after the earthquake.
Videos on Twitter became viral, showing clips of the earthquake near Buffalo.
However, AccuWeather and the West Seneca Police Department were overwhelmed by calls about the tremors.
On the other hand, NBC News reported that the recent earthquake in Buffalo City was the strongest in 40 years.
In 1999, New York City suffered from a 3.8 magnitude earthquake. NBC News reported that a magnitude two earthquake struck the city in 2020, followed by 2.6 in 2022.
According to NBC News, seismologist Yaareb Altaweel from National Earthquake Information Center explained that Northeast earthquakes could emerge anywhere.
The seismologist added that about 24 earthquakes unfolded in West Seneca.
Altaweel said the latest earthquake would not cause damage due to its low magnitude.

However, the report said that buildings and communities in the fault lines would feel or suffer more from earthquakes.
