Scotland is on track to have the coldest December in over a decade, with temperatures in Aberdeenshire reaching -15.7 degrees Celsius, as per the BBC News.

A low of -8.8 degrees Celsius (16.1 degrees Fahrenheit) was recorded in Sennybridge, Wales, -8.7 degrees Celsius (16.3 degrees Fahrenheit) in Katesbridge, Northern Ireland, and -9.7 degrees Celsius (14.5 degrees Fahrenheit) in Levens Hall, Cumbria.

According to unofficial reports, 15cm (5.9 inches) of snow fell near Stansted Airport.

Northern Scotland and north-east England are under a snow and ice warning from midnight Tuesday to noon Thursday, while south-east England is under an ice warning from 09:00 to 11:00 Tuesday.

More than 140 flights scheduled to serve UK airports were canceled due to ice and snow, with Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, and London City airports among the hardest hit.

Flights from other airports, including Belfast and Aberdeen, were also canceled due to bad weather.

On Monday, Londoners faced severe transportation challenges, with most Tube lines experiencing delays or partial closures.

According to Transport for London, there have been delays on several London Underground lines, as well as the London Overground, including the Central, District, Northern, and Piccadilly lines (TfL)

Railway lines continue to be disrupted, with services being cancelled, particularly in the south-east and east of England.

The cold weather prompted Southeastern Railway to advise passengers not to travel after cancelling the first early morning trains on all routes to allow safety checks

Driving conditions across the UK remain difficult. According to the AA, while the snow created a "beautiful winter wonderland," it also created a nightmare scenario for motorists.

Some motorists caught up in the chaos on the M25 and M11 last night reported being stuck in their vehicles for more than eight hours.

On the M25, snow and ice warnings remained in effect, with drivers advised to exercise caution when traveling. Although a section of the road between junctions 23 and 25 has reopened, warnings remain in effect.

Meanwhile, Texas to Nebraska must make preparations for destroying winds, tornadoes, and hail beginning Monday night.

The storm will also move into the Northeast on Thursday, bringing snow to Pennsylvania, upstate New York, and New England. Thursday and Friday could see up to six inches of snow.
