A mosquito swarm stormed a farmer's home in New South Wales, Australia, following record-breaking heavy rainfall events.
Meteorologists believed that the heavy downpours were triggered by the La Nina weather phenomenon.
The incident involved countless of mosquitoes attempting to enter the Australian house's windows and door went viral on social media, highlighting the weather impact on the insect's ecosystem.
Since October, Eastern Australia and Southeast Australia, which includes Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania, as well as the country's capital territory, have received new rounds of widespread flooding due to torrential rain.
Heavy precipitation has primarily caused riverine flooding or the overflow of rivers, streams, and lakes, a similar case which occurred earlier this year.
In previous months, Australian weather authorities have warned the return of La Nina in Australia for the third consecutive year, emphasizing that the phenomenon fuels the amount of precipitation in the form of rain dump into the country.
Related rainfall events since the start of 2022 led to the massive evacuations and disruption of houses and business establishments in multiple communities.
Mosquito Swarm
The YouTube channel Storyful Viral posted the viral mosquito swarm video on the social media platform on Thursday, November 17, stating that the footage was originally recorded by Nicole Frager on October 21 when the bloodsucking insects swarmed her house.
It occurred at a time when the Australian state received several days of heavy rain and flooding; which likely disrupted the mosquitoes' habitats.
In the video, it can be seen that the mosquito swarm, indicated by Storyful Viral to be in the thousands, was flying in the front porch of the house with some crawling in the screened windows.
Frager reportedly said the mosquitoes came out with a vengeance, adding that their new calves were needing treatment.
Working dogs at the residential area also took a beating from the notorious winged insects.

Wettest October on Record
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) stated that New South Wales this year just experienced its wettest October on record and is the 10th wettest month on record since documentations started in 1900.
The state received such a blow due to very wet conditions linked with below-average temperatures.
It is for this reason that multiple areas were inundated by moderate to major flooding last month.
The BoM further added that the monthly rainfall exceeded measurements since the amount of precipitation was around twice the October average.
In addition to La Nina, the Australian weather agency noted that low pressure throughs and cold front combined with tropical moisture contributed to last month's unprecedented wet weather.
The scene out of a horror movie from the mosquito swarm viral video is possible to occur again due to future forecasts that torrential rain could continue in Australia.
According to AccuWeather, the heavy rainfall will not likely go away any time soon, indicating that La Nina effects could impact the Australian region until early 2023.
