Reports revealed that Siberia, on November 16, Wednesday, recorded the coldest weather of its season, and the impact extended to portions of the Middle East and Northern Iraq's mountainous parts.

Siberia has been known for extremely cold temperatures, sometimes the harshest of the season.

The record showed that Siberia is considered one of the coldest parts of Russia.

In a recent report, AccuWeather explained that Siberia recorded 53 below-zero temperatures that resulted in snow and extremely cold temperatures.

AccuWeather Lead International Forecaster Jason Nicholls explained that the slow-moving trough in the Caspian Sea allowed cold air to enter Russia.

It resulted in affecting portions of northern Iran and Iraq.

The report noted that the sudden drop in temperatures in Siberia is not unusual because the region is known for the coldest and harshest temperatures recorded.

For instance, the AccuWeather report shared that Segyan Kyukl in northeastern Russia recorded a temperature drop, reaching 53.5 degrees.

In the report, AccuWeather explained that the coldest weather of the season, emerging on Wednesday, reached and affected portions of eastern Siberia. Snow was recorded in Mount Gara, located in northern Iraq.

Meanwhile, the weather agency forecasted that portions of the Middle East could feel cold to cool weather in the coming days.

Then, a rebound to warmer temperatures over the weekend would be expected.

U.S Thanksgiving

In the United States, a previous report suggested that Thanksgiving travel this 2022 would be affected due to severe weather conditions.

The report noted that over 54 million Americans could be impacted.

Early November in the U.S recorded chilly rains to severe weather conditions in some parts.

Forecasts revealed that the 2022 Thanksgiving travel could be impacted depending on the weather conditions.

Forecasts further showed that portions of the western U.S would expect bad weather on November 23, that could affect parts of Seattle, Dallas, Houston and Denver.

Meanwhile, the Northern California and Northwest's snowy and windy weather could also disrupt the Thanksgiving travel of many Americans.

Despite the weather outlook would be chaotic to some portions of the United States, AccuWeather's outlook showed that good travel conditions would happen on November 23.

The good weather and travel conditions during the 2022 Thanksgiving would be expected in Los Angeles, El Paso, Billings, San Francisco, Memphis, Kansas City, Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington, Miami, Jacksonville, Charlotte, and Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, a cold front to the east would bring snow and rain in the coming days.

Temperatures would be colder than usual.

Additionally, the report said that lake-effect snow would impact in the next several days, bringing heavy snow in some parts of the United States.

The lake-effect snow would persist in areas of East Great Lakes starting this Thursday and weekend.

Travel hazards are in effect, especially for those impacted areas. Anyone traveling outdoors should be extra careful to avoid road accidents.

With the threat of heavy snow, roads could have less to zero visibility.
