The latest weather forecast revealed that portions of the Interstate 95 corridor, New York, and nearby areas would expect heavy rains due to Nicole's rain. Nicole has been downgraded and weakened, but it could still cause rains in the United States.
Residents in the affected areas should expect rainfall starting Thursday.
According to AccuWeather's Nicole Rainfall, the weather outlook showed that Nicole would unleash rainfall in portions of Washington, New York, Boston, Portland, and Halifax starting Friday to Saturday night.
On Thursday night, the forecast showed that Nicole could result in severe thunderstorms, causing isolated tornadoes and damaging wind gusts up to 50 to 60 mph. Affected areas include Charleston, Savannah, and Jacksonville.
Meanwhile, the report added that severe thunderstorms could emerge from Friday to early Saturday morning, affecting Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Raleigh, Virginia Beach, Washington, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston.
Monitoring Nicole
In the latest update, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Post-Tropical Cyclone Nicole would move to the portions of the Northeast. There is a potential that tornadoes could emerge in parts of Southeast Virginia and Delmarva.
Nicole weakened to Tropical Depression Nicole. As residents in Florida have been recovering from Hurricane Ian's aftermath, Nicole could still cause heavy rainfall and flooding. The Hurricane Center advised that renewed river flooding could occur in St. John's.
In a recent announcement, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said on Twitter that power was restored for over 95% who suffered from power outages.
The report said that isolated flooding could occur in southern and central Appalachian portions, including the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Meanwhile, the advisory added that heavy rain and isolated flooding could be expected in portions of eastern Ohio, Western New York, Northern England, and Pennsylvania.
Weather preparations
Portions of New York City could be drenched with heavy rains and nearby surroundings. It could disrupt your travel activities. The heavy rains could also cause small flooding in affected areas.
Check the weather updates if you would go for travel, outdoor activities, or vacations, especially since heavy downpours could result in reduced road visibility.
Moreover, be careful with flooding, flash floods, and mudslides. Commuters and residents should be aware of the potential flooding. If the rain causes power outages, be mindful of using generators. Misusing generators could result in health risks affecting you and your family.
As portions of the United States began to feel the winter, the weather would be colder due to the chilly rain.
Snowfall
In the previous report, Midwest and Rockies experienced storm blizzards and snowfall. The blizzards, aggravated by severe weather conditions, disrupted outdoor travel and activities. Local officials in the affected areas announced blizzard warnings.
On the other hand, the report noted snowfall and mountain snow could emerge from Maine to New Mexico next week. AccuWeather noted that blizzards could also happen in affected areas as the storm develops.
The weather outlook revealed snow potential in Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Portland. Meanwhile, the rain will unload from Monday to Wednesday, affecting Charleston, Dallas, Austin, Jackson, New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Washington, New York, and Boston.
