Reports said that Tropical Storm Ian is set to unleash heavy rains and strong winds in Cuba and eventually in Florida.

Tropical Storm Ian is reported as the 9th named Hurricane hitting the Atlantic basin this season.

While it is not yet on Hurricane level, Tropical Storm Ian is seen to unleash torrential rains and heavy winds, causing minor flooding.

CBS News reported that the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that Ian showed a rapid strengthening on Sunday, and it is expected to be more powerful on Monday and Tuesday.

AccuWeather noted that Tropical Storm Ian maintained up to 60 mph winds on Sunday, 8:00 p.m, and it was seen moving northwest at 12 mph.

According to an AccuWeather meteorologist, Adam Douty, the Tropical Storm Ian is expected for a quick uptick in strengthening as it is moving to the Western Caribbean.

The Senior meteorologist added that the Caribbean has low wind shear with warm water.

While Tropical Storm Ian has not yet made an impact, the report stressed that it could bring about heavy rains.

However, Ian moving to the Caribbean could strengthen.

Early preparation is essential to avoid catastrophic incidents and be safe during and after hurricanes or storms.

Douty added that it could raise the potential of significant impacts in the western Caribbean and the United States, noting Tropical Storm Ian could become a major hurricane.

Tropical Storm Ian formed on Friday in the central part of the Caribbean, which forecasts saw as a potential storm threat to eastern portions of the U.S.

The Weather website added that the storm could unleash the worst conditions on Tuesday. Storm surge is expected to be over six feet.

According to AccuWeather Weather News, United States Florida Governor Ian DeSantos announced a pre-landfall state emergency.
