Hurricane Fiona is expected to hit Atlantic Canada's Gulf of St. Lawrence this weekend that will produce significant high winds, storm surges, and heavy rainfall.
The impact of Fiona can lead to coastal flooding, power outages, landslides, pounding seas, and strong winds.
The National Hurricane Center announced in an advisory that Hurricane Fiona had become a powerful hurricane cyclone.
As Fiona keeps away from Bermuda, AccuWeather forecasters noted that Fiona would move northeasterly toward Atlantic Canada.

- Tropical storm conditions can affect areas in the southeastern Bahamas by late Thursday.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist and Canada Weather said that Fiona could cause widespread power outages because of high winds.
Flooding is also possible due to Fiona's torrential rain and storm surge in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Despite North Atlantic colder water temperatures preventing strong hurricanes from making landfall, Hurricane Fiona has the potential to land in Atlantic Canada.
According to AccuWeather, the reason being is the water temperature has been five to 10 degrees Fahrenheit (10-20 C) warmer this year.
The unusually warmer temperature can result in the weakening of the hurricane.
