A wet and stormy weekend with potential rip currents on the beaches is forecast for Central Florida.
Florida will see highs of 86 degrees and lows of 73 degrees today. Storms are 70% likely from the late afternoon to early evening.
Orlando Weather Highlights
According to experts at FOX 35, Central Florida is still covered in clouds as a result of yesterday's rainy weather. Today's highs are mostly going to be in the upper 80s, and more rain is expected. Rain and storms start up again, mostly after 2 PM for most places.
Heavy rain, strong winds, and numerous lightning strikes are the main storm hazards.
Along Florida's beaches, it will be cloudy and sweltering. Keep an eye out for daytime and nighttime thunderstorms with lightning this afternoon through this evening. A 60 percent chance of rain is the maximum. Through this weekend, there is a moderate risk of rip currents at all beaches along the east coast. There are only one to two feet of surf.
For parts of Florida, the weekend will be humid with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Experts recommend staying hydrated and taking breaks inside air-conditioned rooms, especially those with plans to go to Florida's theme parks. Rain is most likely between 3 PM and 8 PM. Lightning and torrential rain are likely.
Florida Weather for the Next Few Days
In some areas of Central Florida, rain chances will continue to be high with the same pattern at least through Tuesday. Experts at FOX 35 recommend having an umbrella handy for the week. By the middle of the week, a northeast wind could bring drier weather as Tropical Storm Fiona will be in the western Atlantic area.
Tropical Storm Fiona Watch
There will be effects from Tropical Storm Fiona on the islands in the eastern Caribbean. This weekend, the islands will experience escalating winds and significant tropical downpours.
The latest Fiona forecast by the National Hurricane Center is very consistent with FOX MODEL, a data system used to more accurately predict hurricanes (NHC). Fiona is expected to weaken to a hurricane between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico by the end of this weekend, according to the tracking data. The system is then brought closer to the Bahamas-Southeast of Florida by FOX 35's FOX MODEL, FOX 35 reports.

Allergens, Health, and Activities
The weather can present various situations that may affect allergens, health, and activities. AccuWeather data shows that ragweed pollen and mold have moderate concentrations in the air for today. On the other hand, dust and dander levels are extremely high, which may trigger symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, and sneezing.
Weather impacts on health are moderate for arthritis and high for asthma.
Fishing activities are ideal for this weather and while all other activities are fair, AccuWeather puts running and beach activities at a poor rating. This means that these activities could be difficult to do in this weather.
The weather is perfect for large numbers of mosquitos, as well as indoor and outdoor pests. AccuWeather recommends on their website to use yellow bug lights and wear clothes that will cover as much skin as possible.
