In the Food News Safety article, media reports claimed that 40 pet illnesses were also investigated.
Animals suffered from convulsions and vomiting.
The Business and Human Rights Resource said the examination revealed that that one of the dogs showed sign of kidney failure as cause of death.
Furthermore, contamination with ethylene glycol is still under investigation. It is considered toxic and advised not to be used for pet products.
Members of Mapa's Animal Products Inspection Department conducted sample analysis.
