A Weather Aware Day is in effect until tonight and late hours.

Storms ranging from strong to severe are forecast throughout most, if not all, of the KLBK viewing region, as per EverythingLubbock.

Wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph, hail up to two inches in diameter, localized floods, and isolated tornadoes are all probable.

Storms will increase in coverage from west to east between 4 PM and midnight. By midnight tonight, some areas will have received more than two inches of rain.

Under an overcast sky, lows will fall into the low 50s to low 60s.

Storms will continue to affect northern regions during the night and into early Tuesday morning. Rainfall totals in this area might surpass four inches for some.

Another wave of heavy rain and perhaps severe weather is expected on Tuesday, May 24, which has been designated as a Weather Aware Day.

Except for a few early morning drops of rain on Wednesday, it'll be dry and chilly.

Highs will reach the low 80s under an increasingly bright sky, with winds from the north at 10 to 15 mph. Lows will fall into the low 40s to mid-50s for some on Wednesday night and Thursday early.

The warming trend resumes on Thursday, with highs returning to the mid-80s to mid-90s under partly sunny skies.

Winds will be 12 to 18 mph out of the south-southwest. The milder weather will last through Thursday night and Friday morning, with temperatures barely dropping into the mid-50s to mid-60s.

Weather forecast in Alabama

This afternoon, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms over Alabama, with a mix of sun and clouds; temperatures will range between 75 and 82 degrees in most spots.

As a layer of tropical moisture remains, scattered showers are expected over the state tonight.

There will be some sunlight on Tuesday, but scattered to frequent showers and storms will emerge in this unstable air mass.

Where storms do form, they may be severe.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a low-end marginal risk of severe thunderstorms (level 1 out of 5) for the state's southern two-thirds.

Small hail and strong gusts are possible with stronger storms.

Wednesday's weather will be unsettled, with a fair possibility of showers and storms, although it will not rain all day.

Heavy storms will have the potential for hail as well as severe, gusty gusts. Rain and thunderstorms are expected on Thursday as a cold front approaches.

The rain should stop by Thursday evening. Rainfall estimates between today and Thursday will range from one to three inches, providing some welcome relief as meteorological summer approaches in a week or two.
