Life Forest cemetery is proud to announce that they have become an official steward of Little Free Library®.
The mission of Little Free Library is building a community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all is in line with Life Forest's mission to help children process and understand the emotions around death. To support that mission, Life Forest is filling the Little Free Library with educational stories and workbooks geared to the children who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Life Forest believes that children should never feel fear at a cemetery, and incorporates educational aspects such as arboretum status and children's book reading events.
"Benjamin just got so excited to see his dad's tree. He said, "wow look it's got a tall part now" and he's actually looking forward to visiting for Father's Day which as we all know in a traditional cemetery atmosphere that wouldn't be the case... so thank you for providing a place the boys actually want to visit."
- Samantha Hamel, Benjamin's Mom, Benjamin's father is buried at Life Forest under a Cherry tree.
About Life Forest®:
Life Forest is a conservation burial ground where trees are planted to memorialize loved ones and allows you to be buried with your pets. Life Forest believes that a compassionate burial experience, and the planting of a tree, fosters an environment of healing after loss. The burial ground is surrounded by 80 acres of conservation land where families and friends of loved ones can hike numerous trails and swim in nearby creeks.
Life Forest fosters a community of healing, hosting free acoustical concerts, shared memorial gardens, and educational opportunities for those in the environmental science and deathcare industries. Because the trees act as burial monuments, the memorial trees are protected under cemetery law and legally recorded with burial plot GPS data to the Life Forest Deed.
