A new round of severe thunderstorms and another threat of isolated tornadoes from those intense storms were noticed over part of the eastern U.S. Sunday evening.
Different from the severe weather event on Thursday which caused over a half dozen tornadoes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the weather on Sunday was divided into two areas: the initial one was over the interior northeast over New York and Pennsylvania while the second was over extreme southeastern Virginia and eastern North Carolina.
Tornado risk
Another event that poses a high risk of isolated tornadoes there is the cluster of showers and storms over North Carolina. The highest threat of tornadoes is over eastern North Carolina, as per the updated data from the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center.
While everyone won't notice a tornado, close to Outer Banks is where there is the greatest risk of one; due to the presence of water, waterspouts are also likely and can be dangerous too.

Severe Storm
The highest threat from severe storms in the northeast will be causing damages to the wind gusts. Different from the outbreak on Thursday where atmospheric conditions were helpful for the development of tornado, the same is false for Sunday's severe weather event.
However, there are possibilities of powerful to intense storms, in the absence of that increase tornado risk, in the region most affected by tornadoes and severe thunderstorms that took place on Thursday.
Computer forecast model guidance proposes the line of storms presently in central Pennsylvania and New York will proceed south and east to the I-95 corridor, making gusty showers and storms occur in places like Philadelphia gradually. There is a low risk of isolated tornadoes around the I-95 corridor, and there is also a risk of destroying wind gusts from these storms.
It is predicted that the storms in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic will round off during the evening hours, with fair and arid conditions setting in for the overnight period.
People Prone to Risks from Tornados
People that are mostly at risk from tornados are those in motor vehicles or people who inhabit mobile homes. Even though mobile homes are tied down, they offer not too much protection from tornadoes. Due to the fact that a tornado can travel at a high speed, one should never attempt outruning a tornado in a vehicle mostly if you are in urban or overcrowded areas. Rather, leave the vehicle instantly and look for a better shelter.
Tornados are very lethal! Many lives are lost each year as tornadoes cause the demolition of buildings and throw debris through the air at dangerous speeds. Enhanced Fujita Scale can be used to measure the severity of a tornado.
From lightning and flooding to hail and a wind of 50 miles every hour, thunderstorms can be accompanied by different risks and levels of extremity.
