Two friends were filmed rescuing their third friend after falling through a frozen reservoir while playing ice hockey. A daring rescue was caught on camera on the Eliburn reservoir in Langston, West Lothian.
Dave Stewart posted the video of the rescue attempt on his Facebook page last January 3 at 10:22 pm. He said that the boy and his friends were skating on the frozen reservoir while playing ice hockey. Stewart only started recording the situation after realizing that the two boys were no longer playing but using a handsaw to cut a hole in the ice.

ICE SKATING HIJINKS
When the boy who was cutting the whole finally managed to get a good chunk of ice the size of a baking tray that was an inch and a half thick, he proudly paraded the ice above his shoulders while shouting, "it's cool guys, it's well thick."
After the insanely idiotic stunt the boys just pulled, Stewart, along with some other concerned citizens, got close to the reservoir to tell them off and make them leave the frozen waters. Then, the unexpected happened, one of the boys just sunk through the freezing water.
Fearing for their own safety as they might put their lives at risk too if they went after the boys in the ice, all the citizens could do was instruct them on what to do to try and save their friend's life.
The onlookers told them to lay flat on the ice's surface to evenly distribute their weight and avoid causing more damage to the ice because if they manage to get more stress on it, it may break, and the two other boys will be suffering the same fate as their friend.
They successfully pulled him out, and one of them skated away as fast as he could to lessen the weight put on the ice while the other helped their freezing friend get to the side. When they were on land, his friends immediately removed his clothes from his body.
This near-death scenario did not falter the boys as one of them returned to the ice to chase Stewart, who was already at the other end of the reservoir. He did this to tell him to airdrop him the videos he has taken.
The accident can happen anywhere as many ponds and lakes around the city have frozen due to the winter season. Still, the cold season had only frozen them for a significantly short amount of time to be strong enough to support the weight of skaters who wished to play around the frozen waters.
POST LOCKDOWN
Many were quick to jump in and defend the actions of the people who chose to go on and play around the waters, as it has been quite some time since many West Lothians were forced to stay at home and follow quarantine procedures. That is why when authorities finally lifted the guidelines, people were quick to stretch their limbs and go to places that are not inside their houses.
Given that the people direly craved some coping from the months' worth of lockdown, it's still not a good enough reason to risk their lives.
