You might be surprised that there are unlikely animals out there that can learn the exact words you speak, even your feline friend! These lists of animals could shock you! Here are the species that scientists discovered can speak the human language. And guess what? They have names, too!
Blackie the Cat
CNN's previous report stated that if visit YouTube and search for the "talking cat," then you'll find thousands of felines talking in English fluently. Way back in the 1980s, many people tried to train their cats to speak, either just to help them learn a new skill or use their pet's amazing act to earn money.
Carl Miles, a resident of Augusta, Georgia, decided to train his cat to say "I want my mama" and "I love you." Because of his friend's amazing talent, they were able to make paid appearances on local radio programs and TV shows. They even hit a big spotlight on the network TV show "That's Incredible."
Hoover the Seal
A baby orphaned seal was discovered by George and Alice Swallow in 1971. The couple took care of the baby seal for a few months. However, they discovered that the pup consumes food more than they can provide, thus naming him Hoover, which is based on a vacuum brand.

George and his wife decided to contact the New England Aquarium to help them take care of the animal. To get the company's attention, George told them that the orphaned seal could speak. At first, the researchers at the aquarium didn't believe him.
But, they soon noticed that the sound that the animal makes seems to form the phrases "Get outta here!" and "How are ya?"
Here are other popular animals that could learn human speech and speak the usual words people use.
- Lucy the Chimp
- Alex the Parrot
The Guardian also reported that there are also other animals that are capable to make their own speech pattern. However, they can't form human words, unlike the mentioned species.
- Rocky the ape
- Koshik the elephant
- Orca whales
- Noc the beluga whale
