EcoPlant, a leading provider of revolutionary industrial IoT solutions for compressed air systems, partners with Atlas Machine & Supply Inc., a distributor and service provider of industrial air compressors to enhance the compressed air system technology used in U.S. factories.

EcoPlant aims to introduce revolutionary technologies to U.S. factories that rely on air compressors, making it more environmental-friendly and efficient. In its effort, EcoPlant has already raised $8 million for the collaboration.

Air Compressor Problems

Ninety percent of factories rely on air compressors, a piece of equipment that transforms power into potential energy and stores in pressurized air.

However, drops in pressure tanks, air leaks, and breakdown of the equipment cause unplanned production downtime thereby causing a significant decrease in productivity and overall efficiency.

A staggering 50 percent of the energy is wasted due to leaks and other inefficiencies, causing a substantial loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars per factory every year, the U.S. Department of Energy revealed.

Ecoplant's Solution

EcoPlant provides a revolutionary solution to this: a monitoring device connected to controllers and pipeline sensors that will continuously monitor and troubleshoot air compression concerns. The instrumentation allows improved management of a single or an entire system of compressors under varied conditions such as changes in processes or producing more compressed air.

EcoPlant's solution maximizes an artificial intelligence engine, which is programmed to optimize energy consumption, thereby saving at least 30 percent of energy and reducing unplanned production downtime by 50 percent.

The solution from EcoPlant aims to be compatible with any air compressor technology or brand such that it works well in more than 100,000 factories in the U.S. and in Europe.

EcoPlant has partnered with several companies in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. It has been providing services to several leading companies such as Ecolab, Danone/Strauss, Nestle, Sano, Polyclad and Elbit.

Atlas Machine and EcoPlant: the Perfect Partnership

Aviran Yaacov, CEO, and cofounder of EcoPlant said, "we are thrilled to be partnering with Atlas Machine."

Atlas Machine is one of the leaders in air compressor industry in the country, making it a perfect partner for this venture. Throught the collaboration, air compressor efficiency could be improved, while making it more environment-friendly. Yaacov said, they dream that they may one day use the device for other kinds of equipment such as chillers, pumps and other utility resource planning tools.

Atlas Machine is a family-owned company since 1907 and the leading supplier of industrial air compressors, related products and a full-service machine shop. Atlas provides its services to a vast number of industries: from steel and aluminium, oil and marine, to automotive, food and beverage, mining, construction, off-highway, and general manufacturing.

"Partnering with Ecoplant is an exciting opportunity for us," says Richard Gimmel III, President of Atlas Machine.

"Compressed air is a critical, and often overlooked, aspect of every manufacturing facility. EcoPlant's IoT solution, combined with Atlas's decades of experience in compressed air provides an opportunity to solve the emerging challenges of the industry in new ways. We do see this product as becoming a staple in every manufacturing facility in the future," Gimmel added.

EcoPlant's AI algorithms are also useful in hospitals, commercial buildings, as well as critical infrastructure equipment like pumps and chillers.
