Africa is home to some of the most renowned universities in the world. Here are a few places you can visit while studying over there.
So you got accepted at one of the many world-renowned universities in Africa and you find yourself wondering how can you take advantage of the opportunity to experience some of the many marvels that the continent has to offer? Don't worry, we got you covered.
While going through college, there are often budget limitations that we need to consider, and although cheap traveling for students is possible, one can never finish exploring such a rich and meaningful place in a lifetime. There are 54 countries in Africa, and it is the third-largest landmass on the planet with over thirty-million square kilometers in it.
First things first: Make time for traveling.
No Africa travel guide, regardless of how good it is, will be enough to help you enjoy your life as a student in an African university if you don't have the time to travel around.
Paper writing is the kind of assignment that consumes the most time in a college student's life. You can solve this by delegating that work on a reliable partner such as SpeedyPaper.com. It works. Try it out. If you are unsure, feel free to read a speedy paper review or two from the many available out there.
South Africa
Being so far to the south means that traveling to South Africa can actually be expensive. But if you are able to get there, you will soon find that the less developed areas of the country are extremely cheap to be at and move around. Which makes it a great destination for students that want to have a chance at seeing some of the impressive landscapes that Africa has to offer while keeping things budget-friendly.
If you are into wildlife, the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park will surely satisfy your safari cravings. The Drakensberg, or "dragon mountains" have some of the highest peaks in the country and the landscapes they offer are breathtaking. For adrenaline junkies, Cape Town offers one of the biggest industries for cage diving with white sharks.
South Africa has it all, and it is a major representative of what Africa has to offer.
Morocco
The gap between Spain and Morocco is only about 14 kilometers, which makes it one of the cheapest locations to get to when traveling to Africa from Europe and it is also a very cheap country to visit and stay at with many astonishing places to visit and experience.
Do you want to see a real desert? Then you have to lay foot on the Sahara, it is spectacular and Morocco has multiple spots to experience it from. Home to ancient imperial cities, such as Marrakesh, you can spend entire days exploring their beautiful architecture, their traditional bazaars (souks). For me, the Moroccan experience can't be complete without a visit to one of the many traditional hammams, or Turkish baths, which have all the services you need to get a relaxing, memorable and fully north-African experience.
Egypt
As foreigners, Egypt is probably one of the first countries that pop in our minds when visiting Africa. This is due to the profound historical heritage that the country has, and there is virtually no one who won't value an opportunity to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza or the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.
But Egypt has more to offer than just ancient history. You can do things like riding a camel around, tasting the local cuisine (try the Kushari, it is delicious), or hunting for bargains at one of the most traditional bazaars in Cairo, the famous Khan El-Khalili.
Traveling around the country is fairly cheap, with the average room around the Cairo center being at the $13 USD range. Getting around is extremely cheap and it can be even cheaper if you present your Student ID card at ticket points of sale, you can get significant discounts that make it even cheaper.
