1. The stray dog who risked life to save kittens on a harsh winter

It was an unlikely companionship yet it happened: a 2-year old stray mongrel was found taking care of stray kittens on a ditch.

The story was shared by the non-profit Pet and Wildlife Rescue. According to spokesperson Myriam Armstrong, a passerby found the dog covered with snow while snuggling with the kittens to keep them warm. It was a harsh winter with -3 degrees Celsius temperature, and the abandoned baby cats will surely not make it if it were no because of the heroic female dog.

The animals were then brought to a rescue shelter, where they were treated from flea infection. Their bond remained after, said Armstrong.

The dog was now named Serenity, and she will be open for adoption in early December.
