Before jetting off for a three month mission trip to the International Space Station, you might consider cutting your long locks. If not, NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg, a crew member on Expedition 36, recently posted a YouTube video explaining how she washes her hair in space without the much needed help of gravity.
In the video (watch below), Nyberg uses some warm water, no-rinse shampoo, a comb, a mirror and a towel to accomplish the feat.
In the YouTube clip below recorded on board the ISS and posted Tuesday, she demonstrates her process for washing her hair in zero gravity.
Astronauts have become increasingly vocal on social media during space missions in recent years. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, who returned from the ISS in May, received massive attention after he filmed a series of similar how-to videos in space.
