How about watching your days tick by on your alarm clock like a bomb? However morbid it may sound, this clock was actually designed to motivate people to make the most of their life.

The clock, named 28, was developed by Los Angeles-based company Seize The Day Technology. The device counts down the number of days based on the 28,000 days average human lifespan, that's 76 years and 260 days.

A sample of the clock's math: at 25 years old, you have 19,000 days remaining. And at 45 years old, you only have 12,000 days left to do as much as you can.

It may creep you out at some point but the company says the clock is created with a noble purpose: to motivate people to live each day of their lives the fullest, which might include spending more time with the people who matter or finally ticking off the tiny boxes in your bucket list.

"You'll be dead soon, but this clock is here to remind you to make the most of each day," the company said.

Unlike the typical smartwatch, the clock features an LED display, an AC adaptor and back-up battery to make sure that there are no days amiss and your life countdown will not be cut short. The device measures 6.8 inches long, 3.6 inches wide and 2.1 inches deep, which can be quiet a handful considering the clock is meant to be carried wherever you go.

The 28 clock, however, is not the first of its kind. In 2013, a clock named Tikker was created by Swedish inventor Fredrik Colting to predict when a person will die. Users are asked to fill out a questionnaire about their medical history, and then their respective ages will be subtracted from the overall medical results to get the "death score". The death score is entered in the Tikker and the countdown to death starts.

The 28 clock can be pre-ordered via Indiegogo at $49 (plus shipping fee) and will be ready for distribution in December.

The creators are looking to raise up to $10,000 to get into full production.
