New Study Says Many Climatic Factors Caused 2016 Coral Death and Bleaching
The changing climate has been killing off corals. During the El NiƱo in 2016, warm water threatened the corals in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR). The CIRES or Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences assessed the situation and concluded that global warming, in the long run, will bring additional warmth and damage.
