In the latest NWS Discussion, a front will likely emerge in the Northern High Plains, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley this midweek with a chance of lake-enhanced snow on Wednesday. Snowy outlook will hit in the Northern New England and Central Appalachians.

A potential winter storm in the Northeast can bring rain, ice and snow to the region. Millions of Americans can likely face the challenging commutes and cold concerns this late week to weekend.

As December begins, more winter storms can disrupt the commutes in parts of the US. Motorists should condition their vehicles before traveling next week. The main concerns are slippery commutes, foggy conditions and snow-covered roads.

In addition, the chance of precipitation can also happen. When the weather worsens, it is advisable to limit any outdoor activities to avoid being stranded by heavy snow.

In New York City, the advisory showed that a low-pressure will unfold in the city, including in the Mid-Atlantic and Northwest. Residents can notice much colder air with highs reaching from low 40s to upper 30s.

On the weekend, the chance of rain will unload in Wilmington, Columbia and Nashville. The colder air with snow will spread over parts of Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Roanoke, Asheville Indianapolis, and Washington.
