The final days of February became challenging for Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and part of the South residents after isolated tornadoes caused property damage, power outages and 12 injuries.

The weather conditions in the United States have become challenging after rounds of winter storms unloaded heavy snow and freezing rain in the Midwest, Northeast and parts of Southern California.

In addition, the National Weather Service (NWS) recently warned of tornado watches in Texas and Western Oklahoma, OK/TX Panhandle and southern Texas.

NWS added a possible derecho or prolonged and damaging thunderstorms.

Isolated tornadoes in parts of the South

Recently, Nature World News (NWN) warned of isolated tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind gusts in parts of the South this week.

Meanwhile, CNN and AccuWeather's latest reports said that the tornadoes in the Central United States caused significant damage and 12 injuries.

  • Challenging wind gusts were recorded in Memphis, Texas.
  • Reports said about 88,000 had no power in Kansas City, Texas and Oklahoma. Meanwhile, CNN reported that about 100 storm reports unfolded in the said areas.
  • Parts of Cleveland county also reported about 5,000 power outages.
  • Reports showed that damaging winds flipped cars, while many homes and businesses were damaged.

AccuWeather reported isolated tornadoes hit Norman, Oklahoma (Sunday). Records showed that about seven tornadoes were confirmed in the area.

Furthermore, CNN reported that the National Weather Service (NWS) is expected to check affected areas for significant damage and tornado details.

Tornadoes and severe weather risks could also impact parts of Indianapolis, Ohio, Cincinnati, Central Indiana and Illinois.
