A Conservation Success Story: Red Kites Thrive in Britain 13 Years After Reintroduction

In July of 1990, 13 young Red Kites from Spain were released in Chiltern Hills. Thirty years later, experts pride that the Red Kite has grown into 1,800 breeding pairs and 10,000 individuals across Britain. The initiative is recognized as one of the most successful reintroduction projects in the world, and more species have been reintroduced and are on the waiting list of a comeback since.
