The latest weather forecast showed that rainy conditions and a wintry mix could unfold in the Southeast and East Coasts, causing slower commutes and cold-related health concerns.
In January, homeowners should check for the combination of ice and snow in the region. Wintry precipitation can likely unfold in some portions of the country, especially in the Northeast and West Coast.
The NWS Weather Prediction Center warned of impactful weather in the Southern Appalachians and East Coast this late week. Recently, NWN reported the rainy and snowy outlook in the Southeast.
In this week's weather, the main concerns are slower commutes, widespread travel disruptions and cold-related health concerns such as hypothermia and frostbites.
East Coast, Southeast Weather: Where Will Wintry Mix and Snow Unload?
The National Weather Service (NWS) monitors an active weather pattern that could bring challenging weather conditions on the West Coast and East Coast.
Snowy outlook is also expected in the Four Corner regions and High Plains in the late week. According to the weather outlook, moderate to heavy snow can spread in the higher areas in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
In addition, the forecast showed that snowfall could unfold in the Southern High Plains and Central High Plains on Thursday, including in Western Texas, Oklahoma Panhandle, and Southeastern Colorado.
People can anticipate wintry mixed weather in the said areas. The Weather Prediction Center warned of a winter storm in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and East Coast from January 6 to 7.
NWS reported the area of low-pressure developing over the Southeast on the weekend and DeMarVa coast. A freezing rain can likely unload in the Mid-Atlantic.
On the weekend, the stormy outlook can spread over the New England coast and Northeast, including in the New Jersey and Interstate 95. Breezy coastal winds and coastal storms can still become noticeable in the region.

- Washington
- Buffalo
- Pittsburgh
- Charleston
- Columbus
