Widespread Wildfires in Maui, Hawaii

In Maui, Hawaii, a deadly wildfire unfolded in the area in early August near Lahaina. The raging fires rapidly spread as the region experienced dry vegetation and a lack of rainfall. The gusty and strong winds helped to fan the devastating fires in Maui, leaving about 106 casualties.

The wildfire in Hawaii has become the deadliest in more than 100 years.

Hurricane Lee Impacts on US Residents

Last on our list is the aftermath of Hurricane Lee in the US. The intensifying hurricane brought heavy rains, flooding and dangerous surf conditions on the East Coast and parts of Florida.

Based on the weather reports, Hurricane Lee caused widespread power outages reaching about 280,000 customers in Nova Scotia and Maine.
