Cooler temperatures: Where will it impact?
The early September unfolded the prolonged heat in the US, especially in the Central US. The warmer temperatures and lack of rain caused the dry and drought conditions.
In October, the weather pattern is expected to change due to chances of rain and a cold front. Residents can anticipate the much-awaited chilly temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a cooler airmass is forecast to spread in Central US. It will unleash the cold temperatures in the region, including in the Plains.
On Friday, residents can experience low temperatures to below freezing. Freeze watch is also present in the Central and Northern Plains.
In the Northeast until Sunday, cooler weather will be expected in the following areas:

- New York
- Buffalo
- Pittsburgh
- Charleston
- Atlanta
- Charlotte
- Evansville
- Indianapolis
- Green Bay
- Des Moines
- Kansas City
- Tulsa
In the cooler areas, motorists can suffer from patchy fog. The said weather conditions can reduce road visibility. Motorists are advised to drive slowly and check the weather outlook.
Weather conditions in Wyoming and Colorado
In Western and Central Wyoming, the hazardous weather advisory warned of freezing temperatures in the region. The low temperatures can unfold in John and Natrona counties from Thursday to Friday. Residents are advised to check the weather advisory before going out.
Next week, a mix of snow and rain can be possible on Tuesday. Challenging weather conditions are forecast in the North Laramie Range, Southwest Platte County and nearby areas.
Meanwhile, parts of Colorado can experience subfreezing temperatures, especially in San Luis Valley. Residents should watch out for patchy frost, particularly in El Paso County.
On Friday, Colorado can experience freezing temperatures. The forecast warned of potential impacts on plants, plumbing and other outdoor equipment.
In Nebraska, the advisory noted the subfreezing temperatures in the region with chances of rain in the late week. The frost conditions can be challenging for crops and people with heating systems.
